- Bayonne: Coming to Bayonne means discovering an atmosphere where conviviality plays a major role, as you’ll quickly discover in the bodegas. The town is also known for hosting one of the most emblematic férias in the southwest, along with Dax.
- Biarritz: Characterized by its beach, its architecture and the Rocher de la vierge (the town’s emblem), Biarritz is also appreciated for its gigantic aquarium and the Cité de l’océan.
- Saint-Jean-de-Luz: This small town of character was once the site of the wedding between the Sun King and Marie-Thérèse, celebrated in the Église-Saint-Jean-Baptiste. Those wishing to continue their journey back in time can also visit the Maison Louis XIV.

- Espelette: A stopover in Espelette will delight visitors’ taste buds. Renowned for its piment d’Espelette chili cultivation and festival, Espelette is also renowned for its chocolate and other Basque specialties such as ewe’s milk cheese.
- Ainhoa: Classified as one of France’s most beautiful villages, Ainhoa is a typical Basque village. With its white and red half-timbered houses, church and 19th-century Basque pelota court, it’s sure to delight visitors.
- Sare: At the foot of the mountain lies another listed village brimming with natural and historical treasures, such as the Grottes de Sare, the Ortillopitz house and the emblematic Rhune. La Rhune is a summit accessible by cogwheel train. Once you’ve reached the top, you’ll enjoy a splendid panoramic view of the ocean, the Landes forest and the Basque Pyrenees.
- Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port: The ancient capital of Basse-Navarre is also the last French stopover for Compostelle pilgrims. Thanks to its military past, the town has preserved architectural remains (ramparts and citadel) that are well worth a visit!
