Where to shop in the Landes this summer?

It’s THE must-do summer outing: the market! Here are the top 5 markets in the Landes not to be missed during your camping holiday in Vielle-Saint-Girons!

Vielle-Saint-Girons market

Quality, conviviality and good humor are the watchwords of this small, traditional market that celebrates local produce. In the village square, the lilting voices of the locals mingle with the colors of the stalls stocked with fruit and vegetables, charcuterie, cheese and other regional produce. A typical market to stock up on good food during your camping vacation in the Landes.

  • Saturday mornings, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., around Place Jean Barbe.
  • Sunday mornings during the summer, parking des Barcottes de St-Girons Plage.
  • Every Tuesday evening in July and August: night market.

Léon’s market

On the Route des Lacs, the Léon market brings together nearly 80 stallholders in the town center. In this small Landes village renowned for its famous Courant d’Huchet, let yourself be charmed by the atmosphere of this lively and colorful market. Every morning, you’ll find fresh fruit and vegetables, local charcuterie, foie gras, cheese, Marensinwines… as well as ready-to-wear, shoes and bazaar items. It’s impossible to leave empty-handed!

  • Daily, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 15 to September 30 (rest of year, Sunday and Tuesday mornings, Place de l’Eglise).
  • In summer, the night market is held on Wednesday evenings.

Linxe market

In the village of Linxe, in the heart of the Marensin region and 15 minutes from the beaches of the Côte d’Argent, it’s easy to stroll between the stalls of Landes producers. On market days, all the culinary trades are present. A small committee of market gardeners, charcutiers, butchers, poulterers, fishmongers, oyster farmers and cheesemongers display their local produce to delight the taste buds and the eyes!

  • Tuesday and Friday mornings, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the church square.

Moliets-et-Maa market

Once again, this is your chance to fill your shopping bag with 100% Landes produce, sample new flavours and chat with local producers. In July and August, don’t miss the Basque-Landes producers’ night market, held on Tuesday evenings in the Place du Village (from 5.30pm).

  • July 1 to September 15: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Place de la Bastide, then on Place Rose (avenue de l’Océan) from September 1.

Messanges market

Discover the charm of a small coastal village in the Landes and the atmosphere of its market. You’ll find everything, and the stalls are particularly well-stocked with local food and craft products. All in a friendly, authentic atmosphere. Perfect for preparing the day’s picnic or whetting your appetite!

  • All year round, Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., under the covered hall.
  • In July and August, on Wednesday and Friday mornings, in the school parking lot.
